What happens in a session?

Sessions occur in a safe, natural and welcoming environment in the paddock, or round yard. There may be one or many horses participating in the session. After an initial welcome and discussion about needs and wants for the session, the participant is offered an experience on the ground with the horse/s. The participant is offered some clear safety guidelines about the process of sessions and horse behavior.

Initially in sessions participants are supported to become grounded and aware before they come in contact with the horses. Then together with the horse and client the practitioner will offer an experience with the horses which could be observation, herd meet, individual horse meet, grooming, leading or mounted sessions.  Participants are then supported to reflect on this experience on what they felt, saw and thought increasing awareness of feelings, thoughts, observations, patterns or themes.
